At 7:24 a.m. on April 7th, we have our first New Moon of the Lunar year happening at 18 degrees of Aries. With a New Moon in Aries, a fire sign and the first one of the zodiac, which is known for it's confidence, determination, innovation and pioneering spirit; we are called to re-evaluate our relationship to ourselves and use this potent energy to make changes in our lives that will result in solid, realistic plans which will have the potential to move us much closer to our goals by the end of this lunar cycle.
April 2016 is a 13 Universal month (4+2+0+1+6=13) and 13 is associated with our inner genius and empowerment of the Divine Feminine. It is all about empowering and awakening our deep internal strength and often involves deep Spiritual catharsis. When the 13 energy it is activated, as it is all this month, there is ample opportunity to grow and break free from outdated patterns while learning to trust in and implement our new ideas. 13 is also strongly linked to the Lunar cycle (there are 13 moons in a year and the entire Lunar calendar is based on 13...13 weeks in every season makes up the 52 weeks of the year, and the moon itself covers approximately 13 degrees in the sky every day.) So, a New Moon in a 13 Universal month carries particularly potent energy for assisting us with manifesting our goals if we choose to take advantage of those energies and utilize them to our advantage.
By consciously opening ourselves to, and welcoming, the change that comes with any unexpected developments that occur at this time, we are aligning ourselves with the present moment and allowing ourselves to surrender to any new opportunities that emerge. This enables us to open to these possibilities that the Universe is presenting us devoid of many of the trappings of past resistance. If we allow ourselves to get out of our own way, the energies are ripe for possibility at this time. As I have said before, the energies don't dictate what happens in our lives, but, like the weather, they influence it, and when you know what is happening energetically, you have the opportunity to harness those energies for your betterment.
