5/5/2016 (Day 126) Taurus New Moon Tomorrow

The New Moon in Taurus happens tomorrow afternoon at 3:39 p.m. EDT. Taurus is the earthiest of the Earth signs and, on one hand, possesses very grounding, practical energy. Ruled by Venus, it is also a very sensual and physical sign that encourages us to explore our own sensuality...to delight in the beauty of the May flowers, enjoy the springing forth of life all around us, and to bask in the thrill of romance and the passion of lust and to engage with the magical energies of Gaia teeming all around us (it's a great time for some nature magic if you're so inclined). But, on the shadow side, these energies can sometimes lead us to overindulgence in any and all things pleasurable, so be mindful not to allow yourself to get too carried away ;)

Taurus is also associated with self-worth, money and material possessions...what we value and what others value in us are often reflected in our experiences under the Taurean energies. Another shadow aspect of Taurus can be laziness and the desire to (oh no...I'm def not needing any more of that kind of energy these days...lol).

While the Aries energies were about charging forward in Ram-like fashion, Taurus is more about slowing down, digging in with stubborn commitment and taking focused stock on your target, like the Bull. This is a good time to utilize the pragmatic energy of Taurus for focusing on practical, down-to-Earth goals...it's a good time to get to work on these kind of things that you may have been putting off till now. Or perhaps you've been charging through life, going in a million directions at once and it's time to check in with yourself to see where you need to slow down a bit. It's a great time to reflect on these things and to set some practical, grounding goals.

As I have said before, New Moons mark the beginning of a new lunar cycle which makes it a good time for new beginnings, setting new goals and initiating new projects. Intentions set at this time, calling new desires into your life...things you want to grow over this lunar cycle and in the next 6 months. With the Moon in Taurus (assisted by Venus), it is the perfect time to focus on a little Love magic. It's important to keep in mind that whatever intentions we set now my be a little slow in arriving with all of the retrograde energies affecting us at this time.

We've been through some intense energies (and have more coming our way), so this Moon is a welcome gift of calm and groundedness if we allow ourselves to relax into it and enjoy our desire to dip deeply into the waters of our sensual natures and soak in the beauty of Life all around us.
